Purpose :
Georgian Copyright Association (GCA) is the only collective management organization dealing with copyright issues in the country. The association is a non-profit legal entity created to ensure the authors’ rights and related rights holders interests protection and implementation. In order to do so association conducts monitoring of the usage of copyright and related rights, fights against infringements in this field, grants licenses for the usage of copyright and related rights at the Georgian territory, collects/distributes royalties to authors and related rights holders. The main mission of GCA is: To establish and develop a common system of collective management and protection of authors’ and performers’ rights To raise public awareness in the copyright field To eliminate and prevent illegal usage of copyrighted material To support the establishment of a transparent and competitive environment for copyright users To support the development of the copyright usage market and distribution network To create an effectively regulated environment for the usage of copyrights.
