Charles Clark Memorial Lecture: Copyright at the crossroads - Who will control content distribution in a digital world?

16.00 to 17.00 at the London Book Fair, Room 1, Conference Centre Room 1, Earls Court.
Maria Martin-Prat, Head of the Copyright Unit at The European Commission will offer her thoughts on:
• How creators can reconcile the tension between making their work available and the right to object to it, or be paid for it?
• Whether these rights are best managed individually or collectively?
• The balance to be struck between public policy and business models when creating limitations and exceptions to copyright?
• How changes to limitations and exceptions might alter the role of the creator in the digital future?
Anne Bergman-Tahon, Deputy Director and Copyright Advisor at the Federation of European Publishers will also be speaking. The event will be hosted by Kevin Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of the Copyright Licensing Agency.
