Picture Licensing Universal System (PLUS)

The Picture Licensing Universal System (PLUS) is a suite of standards that simplifies and facilitates the communication and management of image rights. Currently it comprises a standard glossary of over 1500 terms, a media matrix that creates a universal set of licensing menus, standardized packs of commonly licensed rights, a system of standardized ID codes for licensing terms and media types and finally a standardized data format, which allows machine readable licenses to be imbedded in image files. PLUS is an important source of standards for the image related part of the activities of IFRRO’s membership.
