Lex Lefebvre retires as Managing Director of IPRO

As of 3 April, Lex Lefebvre has retired and therefore has stepped down as Managing Director of IPRO, International Publishers Rights Organisation, Lex has been active for IPRO since its inception in 1995 (then named PRO and afterwards renamed to IPRO in 2004) and has helped build what it is today. Pieter Bolman, Chair of the IPRO Board, paid tribute saying ‘Over these many years Lex has been of invaluable support to the way IPRO has promoted and protected copyright compensations for international publishers. I wish to express my sincere appreciation for his involvement and dedication. I know how his collaborative attitude was always greatly appreciated and IPRO will miss him.” Lex also served for many years as one of the two publisher representatives on the IFRRO Board of Directors.

The IPRO Board has appointed Eefke Smit as Acting Managing Director of IPRO. Eefke is well known from her work for the International Association of STM Publishers and from her many years in publishing.

IPRO and STM are IFRRO members.
