IFRRO sends open letter to European Commission Vice President Kroes

In an open letter to commissioner Neelie Kroes, IFRRO addresses issues raised in the speech given recently by the European Commission Vice President Kroes at the IViR Conference in Amsterdam.

The open letter, available here, refers, among other things, to the consequences to authors and publishers of the recent changes in the Canadian copyright legislation, and suggests that the Canadian example is not one to follow for those who want to develop the future digital environment and economy. IFRRO declares itself ready for a dialogue with the Commission and other stakeholders on how to constructively develop a legal digital content market.
