European Commission published action plan and consultation on e-commerce

Based on the Green Paper consultation “Towards an integrated European market for card, internet and mobile payments” adopted today, the European Commission seeks the views of stakeholders as to which obstacles hinder further market integration and how these could be resolved. The deadline for submitting contributions to the consultation is 11 April 2012. On the basis of the consultation feedback, the Commission will announce the next steps to be taken before the summer of 2012 (more information: http://ec.europa.eu/internal_market/consultations/2012/card_internet_mobile_payments_en.htm).

In the accompanying Communication published today (available here: http://ec.europa.eu/internal_market/e-commerce/docs/communication2012/COM2011_942_en.pdf), the Commission sets out an action plan to overcome these problems and make e-commerce in Europe work for the benefit of all Europeans.
